Sugar Daddy in a Glass-Aroma Alchemy, Kansas City Whiskey, & Hilton Benefits
Scents. Kansas Sips. A Slow Checkout- Slowing things down
This week we’re easing anxiety with sensual aromatherapy, sipping a Kansas City whiskey that tastes like confidence, and unpacking Hilton’s newest game of pay-for-pleasure. Let’s slow it all the way down — in style.
Hello darlings,
Lately, I've had so many people whisper the same thing to me — “I can’t sleep. I feel anxious. My mind won’t slow down.” And trust me... I feel it too. When someone casually asked me how I was doing the other day, I replied, “challenged, overwhelmed, and underwhelmed.” Yes — all at once.
On paper, everything’s fine — better than fine compared to the heartbreak and chaos happening in parts of the world right now. But still… the feelings are real. Heavy. Human. Valid. And if you’re feeling a little off-center right now, know this: You’re not alone. And you’re not broken.
The truth? Life can be beautiful and brutal at the same time. So what do we do? We keep going — not in hustle mode, but in heart mode. With grace, with a dash of sass, and a generous pour of self-compassion.
Here’s your reminder from your favorite liquid muse: On the days when nothing feels quite right, get into the vibe of gratitude. Even if it’s just for clean sheets, a good sip, or the fact that you made it through another weird-ass week.
And speaking of support…let’s get into one of my favorite ways to recenter and recalibrate: aromatherapy. Because sometimes, you need more than a mood — you need a full-on vibe reset.
💜 Lavender — The classic queen of calm. Think cozy blankets, deep breaths, and finally falling asleep before 2 a.m. It's sedative, soothing, and a perfect partner for your wind-down routine.
🍊 Bergamot — Light, citrusy, and just flirty enough. Bergamot is your fresh-pressed reboot when anxiety is creeping in. It's both calming and uplifting — like a compliment from someone really cute.
🌲 Sandalwood — Earthy, rich, and grounding AF. If your thoughts are spiraling, this is the one that brings you back to center. Bonus: it pairs beautifully with a late-night whiskey neat.
🌿 Vetiver — The oil of “I’ve got you.” It’s smoky, earthy, and incredibly grounding. When your brain feels like browser tabs in a storm, vetiver says, “Close it all down. Let’s rest.”
🍬 Sweet Orange — This one is pure joy in a bottle. Bright, cheerful, and a total mood-lifter. Perfect for shaking off stress and stepping into the sunshine (even if it’s just in your mind).
You can find these oils at most natural shops or online. Add a few drops to your diffuser, mix into a bath, or just take a deep inhale when life feels like a lot.
Let this be your cue to slow down, pour something golden, and remember that everything you’re feeling is okay. You’re okay.
Take a breath. Take a sip. Take your power back.
XOXO, Shosh 💋
A Kansas City Kind of Pour: Whiskey with a View at Westlight
When someone invites me to sip whiskey and soak in a gorgeous view? Now you already know..my answer is a yessss!
I had the pleasure of tasting J. Rieger & Co. high above Brooklyn at Westlight — the rooftop bar at the ever-stylish William Vale Hotel. The skyline was giving main character energy, and so was the whiskey. And fun fact: this was my very first Kansas City whiskey experience. Let’s just say... it made quite the first impression.
A little backstory:
Founded in 1887 by Austrian-Hungarian immigrant Jacob Rieger, this distillery once reigned as the largest mail-order whiskey house in the world. That is, until Prohibition rudely shut it down. But like any legend worth sipping, J. Rieger & Co. made a comeback — reborn in 2014 in Kansas City’s historic Electric Park District.
And honey, they did not come to play At this intimate rooftop tasting, I had the chance to sample . their 2025 Edition Monogram Whiskey (yes, please), along with a curated lineup of their best —
Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Kansas City Whiskey (a beautiful blend with a hint of sherry)
Caffè Amaro (think coffee meets bitters in the sexiest way)
Gin (crisp, botanical, and very flirty)
The tasting was hosted by none other than cofounder and managing director Ryan Maybee, who shared stories, pours, and that delicious Midwestern charm.
So what’s the verdict?
Kansas City is now officially on my whiskey map. J. Rieger & Co. delivers heritage, craftsmanship, and just enough edge to make each sip feel like heritage with a hint of mischief.
Served:
Warner Bros. is back on their slash-and-burn era. This time, they’re pulling the plug on a handful of lesser-known channels: HBO Family, ThrillerMax, MovieMax, and OuterMax — all set to shutter on August 5th. Honestly? I hadn’t heard of half of them. But as a thriller girlie, I’m mourning ThrillerMax in theory. She could’ve been the one. RIP to the channel I never knew I needed.
For the Hilton loyalists out there: brace yourselves. It looks like Hilton Honors quietly pulled late checkout from the perks list. But don’t worry — for an extra $40–$60, you can now buy your way into a few more hours of luxury. Sounds less like a benefit and more like a cash grab, honey. Hilton said: no loyalty without a little coin.
Sabrina Carpenter is making headlines again — this time for an album cover that's got everyone clutching their pearls or calling it genius. Art? Demeaning? Deliberately provocative? Yes, yes, and absolutely. In a world obsessed with standing out, she’s not just playing the game — she’s teaching the masterclass. Maybe it’s time Sabrina dropped an album and a book on branding.
This summer’s hottest beauty fling is Milk’s Cooling Water Jelly Lip + Cheek Blush Stain. It’s giving hydration, it’s giving bounce, and it’s giving color that lasts through the drama. The jelly texture melts on like a dream, leaving your lips and cheeks looking flushed, fresh, and just a little bit dangerous. It’s the product everyone’s whispering about — are you getting in on the glow, or just watching from the sidelines?
