Sugar Daddy in a Glass: Breakdowns/Breakthroughs, Lewis Capaldi, & Power Playlist
A journey into mental health, inspiration, and a very unexpected catfish encounter.
This newsletter is all about mental health and feeling good—from the inside out. It’s inspired by the soulful sadness and strength of Lewis Capaldi. Funny enough, while diving deep into that inspiration, I somehow got catfished by someone pretending to be Lewis Capaldi. It was an unexpected plot twist so I’ve changed some things around. Yep, that’s a whole story for another time (and trust me, it’s a good one). So for now, let’s stick to the feels that are real.
Unraveling doesn’t mean you’re broken—it means you’re becoming.
This world will try to sell you the fantasy of flawlessness. It will praise your perfection, your ability to stay pleasant and “fine” even as your insides twist with unmet needs and unshed tears. But baby, you weren’t put here to be a pristine porcelain doll.
You were born to feel. To ache. To stretch beyond the stories they gave you.
Your softness is sacred. Your sadness is sacred. Even your spirals are sacred.
Mental wellness isn’t always pretty. It’s not just spa days and rose quartz water (though we never say no to those). It’s about intimacy with your mind. It’s about sitting in the messy middle and refusing to abandon yourself.
It’s boundary setting that doesn’t require explanation. It’s canceling the plan. It’s muting the group chat. It’s whispering, “Not today,” to anything that drains you.
It’s crying on the kitchen floor and then pouring yourself something dark, silky, and honest—like a Tempranillo that tastes like your inner reflection or a bourbon that burns just enough to remind you: you’re still here.
This week, seduce your own mind.
✨ Turn off your phone and disappear into yourself.
✨ Light a candle like it’s your favorite ex calling.
✨ Breathe so deep your bones remember who you were before the world told you to shrink.
✨ Sip something luxurious, and toast to your survival, your softness and our strength.
Because tending to your mental health? That’s not a weakness. That’s a flex.
You’re not falling apart—you’re coming undone in the best way. You’re blooming in the places that used to bleed.
Your mind is not a mess. It’s a mood.
XOXO Shosh 💋

🍸 Playlist For Strength, Surrender & Self-Empowerment
Songs to raise your glass and your standards. A soundtrack for your soft power era — whether you're rebuilding, releasing, or rising. Pour something strong and press play.
Survive – Lewis Capaldi
A slow burn from the ashes. Raw, real, and quietly defiant — like crying in the bath with a glass of Barolo.
2. Soldier of Love – Sade
Elegant resilience. She doesn’t yell — she commands. This is velvet armor and emotional discipline wrapped in a slow, sultry groove.
3. Eye of the Tiger – Survivor
Vintage pump-up perfection. Rocky montage meets morning fistpumps. Cue the caffeine and get back in the ring.
4. Hold On – Wilson Phillips
A pastel power ballad from your inner cheer squad. Sometimes all you need is harmonies and hope — and maybe a mimosa with extra champagne.
5. Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) – Kelly Clarkson
She’s been through it. And now she’s lifting weights with your bad decisions. Anthemic, cathartic, and ready to dance it off in heels.
6. I’m Still Standing – Elton John
Campy, confident, and utterly unbothered. You’ve been knocked down, honey — but you came back sequined.
7. I’m Fine – Mary J. Blige
That “smile through the storm” energy. It’s not just fine — it’s fierce, flirtatious, and full of fire. Pair it with something smooth but lethal.
8. Breakout – Swing Out Sister
Glossy 80s with a sparkle of rebellion. You’re not having a breakdown — you’re staging a breakout in lipstick and leather.
9. This Is Me – Keala Settle
Big, belty, and beautiful. Your flaws are your fireworks. This is your curtain call, even if the world isn’t ready.
10. I Will Survive – Gloria Gaynor
The original. The gold standard. Breakup? Breakdown? Burn it down. Then strut out in sexy heels ( or sneakers) and never look back.

I love a good candle — because what’s better than setting the mood with a little scent-seduction? One of my all-time favorites is Langston by Harlem Candle Co. It’s smooth, soulful, and smells like the kind of man who writes poetry in leather-bound journals and pours you bourbon neat. Notes of leather, nutmeg, vanilla, jasmine, and sandalwood swirl through the air like a slow dance in candlelight. Me to the ow baby!
Every year, I attend a spa media event that delivers the kind of gift bag dreams are made of. One standout? Madison+Green Aromatherapy Inhalers. Created by a mother-daughter duo, this chic line of portable inhalers is tailored for everything from stress to focus to mood elevation. What I love most? They’re pocket-sized magick—easy to carry, discreet to use, and designed to bring calm and clarity wherever you are.
Speaking of comebacks... Lewis Capaldi (aka my boo, Lew) is pouring more than his heart into the world—he’s teamed up with BetterHelp to offer 734,000 hours of free online therapy. The Scottish crooner credits therapy as a key part of his return to music, proving that healing and high notes can go hand in hand.
